I absolutely adore Emmy Lou Harris. She's right up there with Judy Collins in my book. I love bluegrass. I don't think she has gotten enough recognition like she deserves. I didn't know you played a trumpet either. Do you still? My parents, in all their wisdom, set me up to play the accordion. Imagine a little girl lugging that heavy instrument around. I hated it and that was pretty much the end of my musical ability such as it was which was very mediocre. Nor was I cool in my Wegians and madras skirt. And kids were not witty. I was totally out of my element. But by my senior year in 1968, I got it right. It was all about mini-skirts, sex, drugs and rock'n roll--right?! And then, after graduation, I ran away from home and got married. And I ended up in Pittsburg (yuk!), working at the phone company (yuk!), putting my husband through school at the University of Pittsburgh. And, well, I did most of his homework, as well as wrote his thesis--for which he got an "A", and which is why I say I had "some college". I was happy, at the time, not to have to "go to school" anymore--but I'm not so sure that was the right thing to do...I am sure that getting married was the wrong thing to do--hence the hasty departure after his graduation--when I "ran away" again, thank God. Between then and now, I moved to Beverly Hills, where I lived for 15 years. I worked in publishing as a photo editor for ten of the inflight magazines, as well as for Playgirl Magazine as the centerfold editor--or "pecker checker" as they used to lovingly call me. And of course, lots more sex, drugs and rock 'n roll, parties, skiing, traveling, movie business odd jobs and celebrity hobnobbing. And then I got married again in 1988 and I was happy to put all that fun behind me, believe it or not. My husband is a tennis pro, and I now work with Coldwell Banker as a real estate agent here in the San Fernando Valley. No kids of my own. Two step sons in college. What I'd like to know is, does anyone remember Kathy Baker? Is she the actress on Picket Fences (and more)? I don't think she actually made it over to Quantico High, but she was at John H. Russell. Just curious. And, Doug Cuenin is the reason I made the inquiry on the internet, in the first place. And I found him, and I called him. And he sounded just as wonderful as I remember him. I hope to see him one day, in Charlotte. What a beautiful place to live. I'm so happy he's had a great life...I hope you all have fared as well. I'd love to hear from some of you!

Laurie (Clift) Calland QHS 1967 1/16/2001: Miscellaneous info.: After graduating from QHS I attended Old Dominion University, I met my husband while living in San Diego. He was a 1st Lt. USMC just back from Viet Nam. Because of injuries received in Nam he had to leave the Marine Corps and I became something I had never expected to be a "civilian". We have lived in Texas, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia and Florida. The majority of our married years have been spent here in Coral Springs, Florida a community just outside Ft. Lauderdale. I have 5 daughters Nicole Marie 30, Erin Kathleen 28, Jennifer Lynn 25, Melissa Ann 20 and Amanda Leigh 18. The oldest three are married and each have three children. The olest is living in Del Rio, Texas her husband is a pilot in the Air Force. Number 2 daughter is living in Jupiter, Florida her husband is a paramedic. Numer 3 daughter lives in Louisville, Kentucky and her husband works for Ford. They are hoping Ford will transfer them to Latin America. Number 4 is attending college locally and is hoping to be leaving in the near future to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (The Mormons) and our baby graduated from High School the end of the month and will be leaving for college soon. I am employed as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Radisson Bridge Resort of Boca Raton and my husband manages offices for Workers Temporary Staffing in Ft. Lauderdale. I was thrilled this year when I found classmates.com and finally located some of my old classmates. I have always felt a loss at never having had a class reunion to attend. Even I do not understand my problems with HS school and College, but in the real world it has been a different story. I am still very active with horses, and cars, but no longer have interest in boats. I ride to the hounds (foxhunt) twice a week, and am an Honorary Whipper In with the Waterloo Hunt. My current horse is an awesome Clydesdale thoroughbred cross, Chief. He jumps anything out there as though the jump were just another step in his life. While Elizabeth gave up riding a few years ago, we enjoy travel, reading, old movies, gardening, and working on our art and antique collection. After restoring 3 historic homes up and down the east coast plus two in Michigan, we have finally built a new house from scratch - just the way we want it. At this point we cannot understand what attracted us to those old houses. Leaky basements, bad plumbing, defective wiring, & rot, YUCK! Double YUCK!!! Since discovering this web site, I have been slowly contacting old friends. If you have a contact for Jackie Waterman or Nancy McClabe, I would appreciate that information. Notes:	4/14/2003: Finally getting back to the website. Thanks for updating it. Spring is coming to the Rockies...the sandhill cranes are here and lots of ducks and Canada geese are flying through. The big news is, I have my last child graduating from high school and headed off to college this year and our first wedding in the family will be in Sept. I never pictured myself as mother-of-the-bride, but I guess it's happening. Wow. I am still in oncology and my husband is at a local hospital doing MRI/CT. Going to North Carolina to see my Dad mext month and then on with the graduation/wedding plans! Didn't ski at all this year, did you get into town to do any? I was an ER nurse for about 20 years and finally got over needing/wanting the adrenalin rush and changed specialties. This has its own kind of rush and I quite like it. My husband and I live near Park City (Silver Creek) and have a couple of acres with 2 horses, 2 cats, a dog and 10 chickens. We used to live farther out in Summit County, but moved over here 11 years ago. My husband is an X-ray tech (CT/MRI) and works at a free-standing imaging center in Park City. Notes:	8/81: Miscellaneous info.: Grad. Univ. of MD '72; Sold real estate; lived overseas number of times 11/27/2000: Dear Greg, What a treat to hear from you every once in a while. I get so excited every time I see your name because I know you and Jerrie are Christians. Wouldn't it be wonderful if more of our friends from QHS knew the Lord? Perhaps there are more than we know. :) I just read seven emails that were connected to your email. I think you hit "pay dirt". It looks like a number of us would like to get together again. Sweet memories of QHS! David and I have been married for over 30 years! Our 22 year old daughter married right out of college last year and lives with her Air Force hubby in Montana. Our 21 year old daughter is in her fourth year at VT and has one more year to finish her degree in architecture. Our almost 16 year old is learning to DRIVE! David and I are having a house built in Annapolis, Md. It will be finished by February. Moving out has taken months so I guess moving in will take months, too. We've accumulated way too much over the years. I'll get in touch with you when we move. I think my email address will be the same but, in any case, I'll let you know. Thanks for keeping in touch! Notes:	8/17/2001: Hi Greg, Yes, I certainly do remember you and many of the other students from your time period at QHS. I'm so glad that you had the opportunity to go to Paris. It really is a beautiful and interesting city. I took many student groups there through the ages and have wonderful memories of them. I think it is great that the QHS Reunion is being planned and I would like to receive any info you have.
