Notes: Sibling info.: Janet M. Burns' brother 12/29/2003: Well as many of you already know we didn't launch our satellite in November or December! We encountered some electronic emissions that would potentially interfere with the very sensitive readout for our gyroscopes. The emissions were produced by one of our "black boxes" (it's actually white!) so we've removed the offending box and it is being modified as I write. We now expect to be back down at Vandenberg Air Force Base in early February to prepare for a late April launch (http://einstein.stanford.edu/). Meanwhile I've "moved" back into my house in Menlo Park and I'm enjoying my newly remodeled kitchen. I had planned to rent the house and be on a boat in The Bahamas now but that'll have to wait...so I'm benefiting from all the house-fixing-up I did last fall! I'll continue to enjoy my "fixed-up" house through January and then put it on the rental market (If you know anyone who needs a place to rent near Stanford University...let me know). As before I'll be "homeless" and living in Lompoc (near VAFB) until we launch. After the launch I plan to receive my lay-off notice and "go on the road". I've acquired a "travel van" made by Sportsmobile based on a Ford E350 (http://www.sportsmobile.com/) and I plan to travel until the money runs out. At that point I will look for some sort of gainful employment. So look out you may get a call from me as I'm passing through your part of the world (yes..even Alaska)! Yes I still plan to do time on Mike and Marya's boat in The Bahamas (if they still need crew) but that'll have to be next winter. During the holidays I plan to spend some time in San Clamente (Southern California) with Bryan and his fiance April Florent. Jeremy will join us as well. Bryan is obviously planning to marry (June '04) and he's also pursuing a masters in electrical engineering while working for Conexant in Newport Beach. Jeremy is living with Janine Delfino in Scotts Valley (near Santa Cruz) and working for an environmental research company. Both "boys" are doing well! Notes: 6/13/2001: Miscellaneous info.: I'm retired but still own several businesses. I'm happily single now for 25 years. One daughter who is 36 years old who has two wonderful sons. Dallas who is 8 years old and Clint who is 5 years old. From Quantico we returned to Chicago where I lived and was in business until 1977. I moved to Pacific Beach in San Diego, California. My daughter married a Navy man from North Dakota and moved there to raise their family. I didn't want to be just a voice on the phone to any grandchildren they had so when my daughter was about to deliver her second child I too moved to Fargo. (By the way, Fargo is nothing like the movie, which was filmed in Minnesota!) Life's been very good to me and continues as such. I'd love to hear from my friend Barbara Jolly or from anyone who has any knowledge of her currently or in the past to give me a lead on finding her. Hope to see you all at the October 2001 planned reunion.
